Four terrorists and three terror associates linked to a Lakshar-e-Taiba  (LeT) module was on Friday busted by security forces in Handwara and Sopore areas of Jammu andKashmir. Also Read - Amid Coronavirus Lockdown, Central Govt Changes Domicile Laws of Jammu and Kashmir

The police received intelligence reports on Thursday night about the presence of militants in Kupwara district and cordoned off the area.A search operation was launched in Shalpora village in Handwara area of Kupwara district. Two overground workers of the LeT were apprehended during the searches and identified as Aazad Ahmad Bhat and Altaf Ahmad Baba, the police said. Subsequently, two more LeT overground workers – identified as Waseem Ahmad and Junaid Rashid Ganai and – were nabbed from Sopore in Baramulla district during searches at a check point near Sadiq Colony, along with three LeT associates.The officials said one pistol, two UBGL grenades and a grenade thrower were recovered from their possession.

Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered against the four arrested persons in respective police stations, they said.
